I think his academy is in a little trouble since he took over as Andy's coach.
I know of a handful of juniors/high school players that left there in the last few months.
I hope Andy's not under the illusion that Connor's can help his clay game.

As far as I'm concerned, Roddick sort of needs help on all surfaces at the moment, judging by his results in the past year.

In a way this a great move by Roddick. I mean if the great Connors can't help his game, then really who can. But I find this whole saga very sad and pathetic. 1st he's with Gilbert, then Goldfine, then his brother (who it now seems he sort of threw under the bus), and now Connors. Seems to me like this guy should be looking more inside himself to improve then asking all these other people for advice/how to play the game. I mean he's only been playing the sport for probably 15 yrs. Why is he so lost on how to win matches? He's got the biggest serve in the game and a huge forehand. It's not like the guy doesn't have some major tools to work with. The biased American media is going to eat up this story, but if Roddick crashes and burns again at the USO and continues to do nothing in '06 I really don't think many people are going to care. To me it's a much bigger risk for Connors than Roddick.

Well, if Roddick fails under Connors, I would think that people would start turning their heads at Roddick- like, surely it's the player when no coach can 'do the job'.

Was it Connors idea to make Roddick play doubles in RCA?

I suppose it was...obviously Connors sees Roddick needs to become more aggressive (as in playing closer to the baseline). Playing from where he plays in doubles is suicide....

Not to mention his lack of volleying ability.

Well, you can't expect much when he's volleying with a full western forehand grip.
