Chennai Open

Here you discuss the Chennai Open.

Rafael Nadal's only challenge is Nalbandian. The 3rd highest ranked player is Xavier Malisse at #37

Unless Nalbandian really comes to play and is ready for a very physical fight then Nadal has this title

The draw works! I tried to access it from ATP but it wasen't available.

Anyway, this is a surprisingly good draw from a tournament that usually suffers. Nadal and Nalbandian are better than what the others this week have to offer. Hopefully they both play their best and have a good start. Moya and Srichaphan, who together have totally dominated this tournament in recent years, should also play well.

Thanks! I had the same problem and had to use a 'round-about' method to get to it. Once I did, I saved the link! Smile

Xavier Malisse was the third player this week going for a clean sweep. Safina won both singles and doubles in Gold Coast and Djokovic won the singles in Adelaide. Malisse won both singles and doubles in Chennai.

He had a great singles tournament, dropping just 1 set on the way to the title. He upset Rafael Nadal in the SF 6-4 7-6, and beat Stefan Koubek in the final 6-1 6-3. He then won the doubles tournament with Dick Norman, beating Nadal and Bartolome Salva-Vidal 7-6 7-6.

Great start for Malisse. If he can transfer this sort of confidence in the Grand Slams, he can be dangerous. He is, after all, quite talented.
