The tournaments began earlier today.
In the men's doubles, defending champions Bob and Mike Bryan cruised past Coelho/Jones 6-1 6-1. They are looking to reach the final for a 4th straight year. Adelaide Champions Moodie/Perry also advanced in straight sets, and could meet the Bryans in the QF. 6th seeds Santoro/Zimonjic and 4th seeds Hanley/Ullyett went through. Another notable win came from James Auckland and Stephen Huss.
In the women's event, top seeds Raymond/Stosur won 6-1 6-3. Sydney Champions Groenefeld/Shaughnessy, and Black/Huber also won. There was a big upset with Loit/Pratt beating 9th seeds Morariu/Stubbs. 4-time champion Hingis and 2005 champion Kuznetsova also won today.

The women's draw is shaping up nicely, with the 4 top seeds into the 3rd round. Good to see Groenefeld/Shaughnessy and Harkleroad/Voskoboeva still in aswell.

Cara Black and Liezel Huber won the Women's Doubles today with a 6-4 6-7 6-1 over the new starts in Taiwan, Yung-Jan Chan and Chia-Jung Chuang. This year, Black and Huber are reviving their successful partnership from a few years ago. This is their second Grand Slam women's doubles title together after Wimbledon 2005 (Huber's 2nd, Black's 3rd)
Their decision to play together again is looking good as they reached the Gold Coast final, and semis in Sydney. They could be the team to challenge Raymond/Stosur later this year, who they beat in the SF.
Also, Britain had success with Graeme Dyce winning the boy's doubles

Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor, last year's finalists, won the Mixed Doubles title. Likhovtseva is having a fantastic start to the year so far, even though she was considering retirement not long ago.
