Dancevic. Hewitt's up a break. I think this is the first time Dancevic's playing on the major court in any Grand Slam....

Ooh, tough match coming up... Andy Murray vs. Fernando Verdasco.

Verdasco has broken Murray already... 2-1.
|

|
Murray's back on serve...3-3. Murray's 1st serve percentage is at a horrid 41%....

Both players can't hold serve at all... Verdasco serves at 5-4.

Murray has the first set 7-6. he needs to step up the aggression. he won that set on the back of Verdasco errors. he could have won the set along time ago if he wasn't just content on hitting the ball right to Verdasco.

Yes, Verdasco's -4.... Murray's even. He should be able to step it up a notch.

Dancevic took the third set. Hewitt's still up two sets to one though. Dancevic is interesting, I like him. I concur with what Mcenroe said though. He doesn't seem like he scouted Hewitt. I don't know if that happens often though. Is his coach (if he has one) bad or something? Or is Dancevic not paying attention to what he is supposed to do?

Verdasco broke and held. Holding seems to be like a break in this match. Murray broke back though and is serving for 4-4. If the match continues like it has though, Verdasco will win the set.

Murray broke back and eventually won the second set and is now up 2-0. Verdasco gifted several points to Murray. Murray's break was a result of 3 consecutive and identical unforced errors (long forehands) and finished up with a double fault!

Murray will probably win now. He has a tough draw, he will need to do better than this in the future. He will not get by against Nadal being agressive on only a few points a set.

so far there hasn't been any major upsets today. Ana won though.
Ashley Harkleroad did destroy the 17th seed Groenefeld though, 6-2 6-2.

First time I got to see him, and he put up a really good fight, I'm proud of him!
He played well, the commentators were kind of putting him down, or brushing him aside really. I'm glad he took a set off him.
His game is really cool, not one you see everyday.

Yeah I liked him too. I watched parts of the match as they kept switching betwwen their match and Murray's.
A tall Canadian tennis player... hmm... it reminded me of someone I met in a forum!

I'm glad Murray is through. He started to play better as the match went on. He now faces Chela in a re-match of their match last year.
Lovely win for Harkleroad aswell I was so disappointed when she lost those set points to Sharapova last year. Hope she can take alot from this win!

I'm actually sort of rooting for Murray in this AO... I think he has a great chance against Nadal.
Too bad Dancevic couldn't pull it off, it would have been great if he did. Perhaps, inexperience against players like Hewitt?
Tamira Paszek's outfit is just

Most people I know around tennis forums are rooting for Murray. He is becoming a favourite around the world. I think he's been playing great so far, and should beat Chela.

I have no idea why I'm rooting for him... but despite the (occasional) 'bad boy' attitude, there's something which attracts people to him (his dry sense of humour?). This AO might very well be his biggest breakthrough yet.

I don't like Murray at all. I like watching him play when he is playing well. There's something about his personality I have never cared for though.

That is one of the good things about him, he is an interesting character which is more than I can say for the other young guns like Djokovic, Gasquet, Berdych. I'm sure you'll come round eventually
I was wondering, has anyone seen Nadal's new service action. I saw him today aginst Kohlschreiber. The serve looks ugly but it is alot more effective.

Couldn't find a video on it... Nadal's strokes were never beautiful, but, if it's more effective, then it's definitely for the better.

Yes I've noticed his new first serve motion since Shanghai. But the second sere service motion looks like his old one

I agree, Murray is awesome, one of my favourite mens players for sure. His personality is great on the court, I love emotional players.
I am still shocked with Monfils. I've always liked that guy, a lot because he reminds me of a basketball street-baller. So cool.

That puts him at a disadvantage though... that means it would be easier for the opponent would automatically know when he would hit a kicker, when he would hit a faster serve, etc.

Unlucky... the nerves probably played a role in that one (especially in the double fault). The worst thing ever during a match is to have to serve to stay in it....
