Australian Open- ATP

Draw is out. If seeds hold,

RD32

Federer-Youzhny (both should get there)
Djokovic-Ferrero
Baghdatis-Gasquet
Robredo-Acasuso

Ljubicic-Calleri (Ljubicic has a tricky opener against Fish, who beat Ancic in Auckland)
Ferrer-Stepanek
Ancic-Hrbaty (I could see one or both losing before this though)
Roddick-Safin ( )

Nalbandian-Grosjean (Grosjean won't make it, he will lose to either O.Rochus or Guccione)
Haas-Soderling
Berydch-Tursunov
Davydenko-Malisse

Blake-Almagro (Almagro has Ginepri in the first round)
Gonzalez-Hewitt
Murray-Nieminen
Nadal-Wawrinka (Nadal has Kendrick in the first round, this surface should favor him more than grass though)

Some very intresting match ups. AO will be good for the men

Ooh, the RD32 would be so interesting if it turns out that way (according to seeding). Federer-Youzhny? Baghdatis-Gasquet? Roddick-Safin? Gonzalez-Hewitt? Blake-Almagro? Nadal-Wawrinka? Great match-ups... especially Roddick-Safin.

Just saw that Ivan Lubijicic just swithced to Head and is using their new racket. Also Head's stencil has changed a little bit. Be sure to check it out this upcoming Monday

Yes... I got a survey regarding the change around a year ago (I get their newsletter). I voted in opposition to the new logo, but I guess they went on doing it. In a way, it signifies the beginning of a new era for HEAD (one without Andre Agassi).

Blake - Moya in R128 is the most interesting match!

Federer-Baghdatis in the QF (I predict that they will meet for the 3rd consecutive year in Rod Laver Arena)

Federer-Baghdatis is a very likely match to occur... Blake-Moya would have been an interesting match two years ago. I think Moya isn't the player he was, and, at most, in my opinion, the match will go four sets (in Blake's favour).

It doesn't look horrible. Just more "modern"

I'm not entriely sure about Baghdatis. It will be intresting on how he lives up to the expections that are set for this year's AO. He will have a major advantage, though. The Crowd. He will feed off of that. But I hope for the best for him come Sunday!! Very Happy Very Happy

Good idea Percy to have an 'Upcoming Tournaments' section Cool

But I guess the 'Smaller Events' section doesn't need to be used now....

Well it could be used for smaller events, but there aren't that many of them anymore after we started doing int. series for pool. Laughing

BTW, should I just go ahead and make an Aussie Open Day 1 thread like we have in the past?

That would be good, we don't want a 103592085203850235829 page thread all on AO. Razz
