Jankovic-Williams will be very interesting. If I remember correctly, they have had some conflicts in the past... will that continue?
Roddick-Ancic should feature some huge hitting....

Rather disappointing... I was expecting Mauresmo to do some huge things here... hats of to Safarova though. The score looks rather routine....

Wow, that was really unexpected....
Roddick has beat Ancic 6-4 in the fifth. Must have be a great one.
TSN is worse than ESPN... they're not showing a previously played match. They're not even showing tennis!

Serena was great, that match was so exciting and dramatic. I will definitely download and watch it again.
Is anyone else dying for Djokovic to beat Fed?

ALOT of upsets on the women's side. Serena beating Jankovic was hugely unexpected. I am really happy for Serena to get this win, and I think that over the last week of intense matches, she may have dropped alot of weight aswell. I hope she can keep up this devastating form and make the finals. With Clijsters, Hingis and Sharapova in the draw, I don't see her winning it, but to make the finals would be huge. I think she has a real chance to do that if she keeps this up. She next plays Shahar Peer, who upset Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4 6-2. That is a great win for Peer, who won 3 titles last year. Shame about Kuznetsova, but Peer is certainly a name for the future, and perhaps the top 10 is not too far away for her. I would say she (like most of Serena's opponents) is in better shape, but she is also appearing in her first slam QF, so perhaps Serena is the slight favourite.
Vaidisova beat Dementieva 6-3 6-3. Once again, Dementieva goes out in horrible fashion. If she is going to actually get into the finals again she will need to string together matches and stop having these awful ones. Yes, Vaidisova is a very strong girl but Dementieva should have won more than 6 games. Anyway, Vaidisova is playing very well again, and will be the favourite against Safarova. For Mauresmo it is a shame to go out so early, and she needs to become alot more consistent. I hope Safarova can make it a match, but I think Vaidisova will win easily.

I wasn't surprised that Serena beat Jankovic. I think players are starting to fear Serena

The Serena feel good story continues, and it's nice that she's being able to do this. I don't expect her to win the entire thing, but getting to the quarterfinals is already a good start in a comeback....
Federer beating Djokavic was expected. Djokavic is talented, but he doesn't really have that much will power (after seeing him retire at RG). Federer is, again, cruising through this thing.
Another feel good story is definitely Mardy Fish, who won his match to allow himself to play Roddick in the quarterfinals.

I don't see why everyone is already saying Serena won't win the whole thing. At this point, how do you know? Who is better in the later rounds of Slams than Serena herself? This win over Jankovic was huge, the scoreline is rather scary. Jankovic was picked by many to make the final, yet she was pawned by Serena! If Serena makes the final I think she has a very good chance to win it.
Fish-Roddick should be interesting. Fish has always given Roddick trouble (even though I believe Roddick leads the H2H, they are always tight matches), it will be interesting to see how Fish holds up in a Slam quarterfinal.

It's very nice to see Fish in a Slam QF. I hope he at least makes it a good match against Roddick. His win over Ferrer avenges his SF loss last week. He has started the year brightly. Him and Roddick have had some great matches in the past. The Cincinnati final in 2003 was a very close match. If Fish had taken those championship points then he could have had a massive breakthrough and perhaps have gone alot further in the slams. These two are good friends and used to be flatmates. Roddick said this is a way Fish can repay the rent if he loses.
Has anyone been keeping up with BBC Sport's quotes. They are quite funny www.bbc.com/tennis

I'll check those out...
But I am almost thinking that this could be the time Roddick finally takes that extra step over Fed.
It's all lining up perfectly. In the YEC, he had what, 3 match points?
Then he just beat him in exhibition.
Federer is playing well but he is not looking unstoppable to me, he doesn't seem insanely in it mentally like in other slams. That normally would be fine anyway against Roddick, but I like what Roddick has been doing.
That would be huge.
I am worried for Blake/Nadal, if they get there. I really want both to win, but i want Blake to win more.
I dont know why Americans keep bitching about how "American tennis is dying". There are two in the quarters already, probably a third, and a WOMAN in the quarters (of all things)
Things are looking up for this year of tennis. I think it may be one of the best yet.

Fed looked very impressive against Djokovic.
Djokovic poured all he had into the first two sets, but Fed was too composed.
Great match....
sorry I love watching Fed.

Yeah, Federer was really good. I mean he was so accurate and made ot look easy. Djorkovic threw his hands up in the air not know what to do...
While I was afraid that Jankovic could beat Serena, I still picked Serena to win over Jankovic in FITD.
In fact, I predicted all of Serena's wins!!! (pats self in the back!)
