aggasi behaviorwhatdo you think of aggasi behavior lately?? i've been pretty disgusted by it. it's like he's lost his mind or something. i mean it was surprising enough to see him brake his racket like he did (i bet safin was envious ). but now he's complaining about the court being to wet and everything. What has happened?? i always thought of aggasi to be a pretty good guy on the court

By "lately"...do you ACTUALLY mean his last match?

Agassi only throws his racquets during matches when he's extremely angry....I have to say, he was pretty calm when he threw that racquet.

he proably was alittle shaken up when he threw it.

Agassi usually doesn't get that way. He is so into what needs to be taken care of in the match that we rarely see him act that way and that is why it is so shocking. If this was Safin or Haas it wouldn't even of been that big of a deal.

I am not so upset about him throwing him racket, but that he wouldn't play between the second and third set. Goldstein had the momentum and would have won if Agassi wouldn't have done that. Goldstein was thrown off his game and Agassi had achance to regroup. As far as I am concerned Andre cheated. I hope Haas destroys him 6-0 6-0

Agassi's a bit concerned with the rain though. I've seen him pause matches because of wet lines when he's crushing the other player.

he seems to be very concerned about himself slipping.....i guess thats not a big surprise as he doesnt want to be injured....at his age...

Yes. I remember at the US Open a few years ago when he asked the umpire to check the lines like four times.

Agassi has never resorted into those tactics. When he's down, he actually speeds up his play, causing him to lose more points. So I would think he would be the last person to slow down play.

He started to do the speed up thing at the end of the match against Haas and he just seemed like he wasn't into it. He was making more errors as well like you said.

When things go wrong against him, he's sort of too urgent, and he starts pressing and going for winners to early in points instead of slowing things slightly down to regain his rhythm.

but one thing i did see him do smart when playing goldstien was when goldstien and aggasi had a long rally and aggasi hurried up to serve the next point so goldstien couldn't catch his breathe

I don't really see anything wrong with that tactic. Fitness is part of the game and Andre is one of the fitest men on the tour he should take advantage of that.

Agassi plays at a tempo that is based on that. He doesn't 'game' on purpose- that's just the speed he plays at. It's up to his opponent to slow down the game.

He doesn't really do it as a tactic, though. That's just the tempo he plays at. He's comfortable at that speed.

I agree Andre plays one of the fastest pace game on the tour. He is also one of the players who are in the best shape even though his age is up there. I don't think it was good for him to break his racquet which is so against his usually behavior, but I don't think his concern for wet courts is a bad thing. Just one spot on the court that is wet could ruin a players career with one slip, especially Agassi it could end his career.

I dont really like the idea of not letting your opponent catch their breath after a point, I personally think it is unfair, but it is totally legal in the game, to go at the server's pace.

but the thing is at aggasi age he might find himself doing htatm ore often, to win points easier

Agassi has always played a up tempo sort of game. I think he is just use to playing that way.

Agassi sometimes take the pushing the tempo thing to the extreme, especially when he is down in the match. I feel this hurts in alot in his chances in coming back in those matches.

As everyone moves along in their tennis game u get to a point where u get mad at every shot that you miss becuase u expect better of yourself, i think that this is what is happening to aggasi, he needs to just chill and start having fun again and not caring so much about winning/ wet courts ect...

I agree with you he should start having fun again and stop rushing when he starts getting down in the match. It just leads to more errors. The only thing is I think he should be worried about wet lines on the court at his stage in his career one slip on a wet line could end it right there.

The thing is, that's the pace Agassi plays at. It's not like he does it intentionally to break his opponent's rhythm or anything, it's simply the pace he plays at. If he were to play slower, it would ruin his rhythm. That said, I agree that when he's down, he should slow down his pace. He's gotten himself into bigger holes to many times because he rushed himself.
