Berdych plays anicic. that should be a hard one for both. i can see a three setter for that match
|
leftys_rock
|
oh yeah cuz theyre both pretty young and theyre both considered dark horses for GS...well not as much ancic but berdych...but ancic pulled croatia through davis cup.....

|
leftys_rock

i think berdych will win that one cuz hes made a lot of big upsets last year....yeah ancic didnt have that great of a year besides davis cup....but hes still pretty young and he should do better this year....

It is very hard to get a double-bagel, especialyl on the men's side with the amount depth in the ATP. To be able to break their serve everytime is extremely difficult. As the returner, you could: Get aced, miss the return, barely get the return back they hit a winner, and many things, and and server can only double fault. Its definately more common with the women, but still very, very difficult.

I'd say the opposite. There is so little depth in women's tennis that it is much easier for a top player to win 6-0 6-0 against a lower player.

Forth seed Ancic also lost in three sets, 3-6 6-3 7-6[8] to Malisse. He had three match points.
Third see Robredo lost in (again) three sets, 7-6[4] 3-6 6-3, to Serra.
Luckily, one seeded player got through: Seventh seed Nieminen defeated Mayer in straight sets, 7-6[1] 7-5 .

seems to be a pretty good match with berdych and murray (espically the two first 2 sets).
not a surprise with hrbaty over philippoussis. hrbaty really rallied back from that first set lost there. oh and by the way if anyone watched it how did hrbaty rally back in the last two sets???
keneth carleson over ivo, not a surprise. but close.

*update from adelaide*
Belgium’s Xavier Malisse and Florent Serra of France will meet in the final of adelaide. serra who beat Dominik Hrbaty, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the final. Malisse beat Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, 6-4, 6-0. both players are vying for a second ATP title.
it will be a good match

yeah....malisse is having a good run....he had a good 5 setter vs agassi at USO...

Malisse is a very talented player. He's always had issues with injuries and has underachieved at times, but he's dangerous. I was impressed with how well he played against Agassi at the U.S. Open last year.
To beat Berdych that bad is impressive.

its just too bad he couldnt play DC....he has like problems with the coach or something....
|

it's really to bad that he has problems with the belguim davis cup team captain or whatever. that's why he didn't play against america in davis cup last year. it would have been better for belguim if that happened

yeah malisse could have beaten roddick cuz roddick stinks on clay...and rochus defeated blake anyway....so belgium could have won if malisse played...

Yes, wimbledon had some good matches too, but its not always fun to watch ( ace after ace etc.) The Australian Open has a medium-pace court which everyone played well on. It was fantastic tennis to watch.
