about the pro players discussion topic...

percy, is it ok if i make topics on all the top 10 right now?? or should i wait before they do something special?? i have made 3 now.....
admin

Well, I don't know if its completely necessary to make one for each player, maybe just when there's actaully something to talk about. You can do what you want, but I don't really think you need to make topics for players who you do not have anything to talk about right now.
dav6789

I dont think there is much need for a topic for each player, because the discussion is mostly about comparing players together.
leftys_rock

ok thx....i made topics on nadal, clijsters, and mauresmo....theyre playing this week....
J-man

i like the new section Very Happy
leftys_rock

yes i do too... Very Happy
Not_Even_Amateur

I hate it.

It is composed of yet more personal babble from the two of you.

"do you think mauresmo can win the two big american tournaments?"

"at least finals"

"yeah, where she may play Cljisters"

"yeah, I think mauresmo would win"

"yeah, depends on..."

bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. I have tried repeatedly to keep quiet on this but it is getting ridiculous.
Not_Even_Amateur

Can I also add...I am not SURE on this...but I do not believe ANYONE else has made a post in any of those topics bar leftys_rock and j-man...hmmm. Talk about de-personalizing this forum...you guys are just going in the opposite direction once more.

Forget making topics on the top 10...make sure its the 100, I am sure there are some unknown players that would make GREAT topics of conversation for you guys.
J-man

well if you don't like it don't read it. it's as simple as that N_E_A.

Maybe so, but when we talk about progressing this forum forward, its not a good sign when only two people have posted in a section.
J-man

so why don't you post there Agassi2000??? or are not intrested???

J-man wrote:

Well at the moment, I don't have much to say about those players. Nothing special has happened. Ok so nadal is coming back and mauresmo is playing well, but I don't really feel I need to say that...there's no point.
J-man

there's no point right now. but wait in'till these players start to play. then there will be something to talk about

How old are you? 9? What a childish response.

Ridiculous. I WOULD like it if it wasn't for the mindless babble...does the fact that only you and leftys_rock post on it not HAMMER THE MESSAGE INTO YOUR BRAIN? It is a totally personal forum, full of personal babble.

Talk about stating the obvious. "yeah...we will see how so and so is feeling in this tournament"...really?! Honestly, will we really find out that?! I am so glad we will see if they have recovered from their injury...because of course, it took you to point that out to me for me to realise it.

Ffs.

Like getting through to a brick wall. You try a nice, diplomatic approach and it gets thrown back into your face.

Why not just simply reply..."yeah"...its your typical response. Hey, just put it as your signature; save you a lot of bother.
x.doublea

Let's not start a big arguement. We'll all try to supress the 'personal forum' atmosphere the best we can.

i don't feel like aguring with you N_E_A. i've seen the agurements you get into and there a waste of time for you and me. i'll try to fix the "yeah" stuff. i'll also try to stop this personal babble you keep talking about

Or more to the point...you realise I am right?

It is no coincidence.

I don't want any "argument"...that is shown by how long I have kept quiet. There will be no arguement...but it is quite clear that there is a problem here...problems need solving. Why not raise the issue? I can tell you...I am not the only one who thinks the personal chit chat and pointless conversation is getting out of hand. I notice perhaps the biggest cause of all this has not even responded...hmm, interesting.
J-man

i'll admit i use my yeah reponses to much. i have been meaning to stop that. i can see your ponit and it's very valid. i will also try not to chit chat so much
leftys_rock

ok, sorry about the personal babble and stuff. the reason why i didnt reply to this topic yesterday was because of the "yeah" and "chit chat" responses....
Agassi2000

Ok, so I think to sum it up this is what we should all do to improve:

-Try not to start posts with "yeah," or "yeah..." etc.
-Try to use quotes if the context is not completely clear to everyone, not just who you are responding to.
-Don't go off topic so much! If necessary, make a new topic.
-Limit personal conversations so that all members, new and old, can enjoy the forum and be part of a group discussion, not an Instant Message box.
-Try to post more sophisticated messages. What I mean is basically only post when you have something really valuable to say, not just "yeah that's true" or "oh i'm not sure" or "That would be tough"...things like that.

These things should all deal with the problems people have been bringing up and help this forum continue and not end up with 3 members.
J-man

we are all guilty of going off topic Laughing i know i'm guilty of all of those Sad Very Happy

Geez, Can't you just accept the apology without trying to rub it in their faces? By the way, you are just as quilty of the "yeah" quotes as they are. So practice what you preach.

From now on, do us all a favor...leave the sensoring to the Adminstrator.

J Man and Lefts_Rock, you guys are OK. And you don't need to apologize for your posts. Smile

Ok I don't think we need an argument. What Agassi2000 said is great and I will repost it one more time. I think everyone should just read that and (if it is followed) everything will be be over.

Agassi2000, thank you for doing what the Admin should have done 3 days ago when this whole thing started.

Admin, you are 3 days late and a dollar short. If you don't want these posts to get out of hand, stay on top of it.

Thank you for your concern. As you may not know, I had already posted a long message about this subject when it was first brought up a few days ago. You can see it in the Member Announcements section on the 2nd page of "Bringing more members". I am sorry for your distress.

No distress, Admin. Being a new member myself, I hadn't gotten to the "Bringing more member's" section yet. And as I read it, I can see all member's involved in this argument participated in that section too. And yet nothing got resolved the first time...

Well it sounds like everyone got the message this time.

Thanks, Admin

Maria is here for 3 minutes and is already telling the admin how to do his job...great.

Maria, in response to your other post that I am as "quilty" as them with the "yeah" response. Sorry, if you deem this offensive, but are you blind to sarcasm? When I posted those "yeah" repsonses...it was a deliberate micky-take in order to get my message across.

Please, before you join the site and come on ranting and raving...

A.) Get a clue!
B.) Make more posts and familarize more with the site.

Think before you act Maria...if at all possible.

Ja, I think you do comprenda, however, you know once more, that I am right.

The "yeahs" were on purpose...you missed this...you now look ridiculously tedious/pathetic/boring/stupid/foolish<<<choose your own word to finish off the sentence, by all means.

Thankyou.
Not_Even_Amateur

I would also like to bring to the Admin's attention...

Ever since I showed Maria up (embarassment can be incredibly painful, can it not Maria?)...she has reacted incredibly childish.

In order to stop herself being humiliated and proven wrong yet again, she has now resorted to using a foreign language in replying to me. This is pretty fair enough, most would say, and just to be civil, I will agree. However, she takes it one step too far when PRIVATE MESSAGING me with some little pointless text in a foreign language with an attached emoticon.

Necesary? No. Why? Childish...reeling from her earlier embarassment.

Percy, (Admin), I remember a former message of yours on appropriate use of PM's...I do believe that this is most definitely not one of those.

I am afraid Maria has come on here, mouthed-off to others about how to behave (wrongful accusations made), been shown-up and embarassed and has now resorted to THIS.

I do not think this behaviour should be accepted,

shame on you Maria.

what happened to not coming back maria? If you wish to be childish leave and do not come back. we rarely have problems here and you seem to want to start some.
Maria, The Enlighten

Oh my Gosh, I just had an epiphany. I am a 32 year old adult talking to person's who are barely out of puberty (literally).

That explain's the constant "childish" remarks and the obsession with having to be right all the time. Wow! Makes perfect sense now.

This truly is my last post.

Enjoy and God speed!

Yes, I assure you it will be. Your insulting PM's to me show you have no place in a community like this.

A pain I do not mind (except for mariafan), but the rude, insulting, and practically threatening PM's cannot bo tolerated.

Percy, is there a way for you to not allow 'guests' to post with temporary names? It seems that people (like Maria) abuse this. I didn't post for three days due to school work, and I find it a bit silly to read posts by 'Maria, the enlightened'. I feel stuff like this might scare away people looking to join this forum by giving them a wrong image of this forum.

Thanks.

I certainly consider this post childish. First off, it isn't even childish to make the comment you made. It is just false and pathetic; 'mature' people never respond like that. Plus, N_E_A has the right to have an obsession of being right all the time, because he's pretty close to being right all the time.

Don't come back.

Guests can only post in this section, because people may want to ask a question about the forum before joining.
x.doublea

I understand, but I think that Guests should be refrained from creating one-post long usernames, because we have already witnessed a 'guest' with an outrageous name (the enlightened?). I think it sends the wrong message.
