The Fates are still against me. I arrived in Pattaya City a few days before my first match. I don’t particularly care for Thailand that much, but it’s a nice event leading up to the Williams Series. My first day there I did little besides hit with my coach. Then Sunday Leftys arrived and I spent the day practicing with her, in an attempt to get used to the lefty spin that my first match opponent, Valkryie, has too. After a quick dinner with Leftys and her coach (Leftys kept getting texts from Jbors asking where she is, and if she is with another guy all through dinner. I don’t think this relationship will last), I went to my hotel room. Before bed I watched highlights of the Aussie final, and was sad to see old man Yoda beat Dave.

I woke up Monday with, once again, gloom hanging over me. Of course the Tennis gods still insist on punishing me for a season well-done last year. I hit briefly with Leftys again that morning, before she left to play her quarterfinal encounter with Doublea. I was on after that match, and arrived at the main court halfway through the final set. After a good 20 minutes of waiting Leftys finally capitalized on her fifth match point to seal the win. Leftys seems intent on playing hard matches all the time, she couldn’t straight set someone to save her life.

Anyway, as Valkryie and I walked on court her coach played her theme song, The Ride of the Valkyries as Valkyrie saluted the crowd with her racquet (as you can tell Valkyrie is a tad eccentic). The match started, and there I will stop. All I will say is Pixie Light and Dark struck again. I leave to go back to Australia tommorow, where I will lose once again.
