LTA: Wow, Dav6789, congratulations on your finals appearance at the Australian Open! You are the first Britishman in a long time to make a Grand Slam final, and the country is absolutely thrilled with the way British tennis is going. How does it feel to finally make the final of a Grand Slam?

dav6789: Thank you! I am thrilled at this run but I don't think this tournament will totally sink in until later. The Australian Open is a great tournament and the fans are amazing. Throughout my career I had always had good results on the tour but was never able to breakthrough at the slams until last year, and some have doubted me in these tournaments. I definetely feel better about myself in Grand Slams now having been in a final.

LTA: Several top players, such as Vanessa Child, John Edelstein, PSALT, fellow Britishman Not_Even_Amateur, and x.doublea, all lost early in this Grand Slam. Do you feel that this is an effect of the long tennis season, or do you think they just didn't have the goods this time around?

dav6789: I'm not sure. I think after a decent off-season everyone would be refreshed. There is alot of preparation involved for a new year. Some players come out slower than others. The conditions in Australia are tough, it is always hot and the rebound ace is physically demanding. I think the players you mentioned just didn't come to grips with their game soon enough.

LTA: Thank you, dav6789, and good luck to you. See you at the Murray Indoors!
