How to Join:

To play you pick a WTA player, any player, it is completely up to you. Retired, lower-ranked, any WTA Tour Player.

When you have picked your player post her in this topic along with your surface preferences:

You have to rank your four surfaces (Rebound Ace, Clay, Grass, Hard) in order of preference. Please do that too in this topic.

How to Play:

To play, there will be a tournament each week and you will send in a set of points to play against the other players. For your first and third sets you will send in a certain amount of points per surface.

This is where your surface preference comes into play.

Surface #1 = 130 points per set
Surface #2 = 120 points per set
Surface #3 = 110 points per set
Surface #4 = 100 points per set

You will arrange these points in any order you like over 13 games, for example:

Set 1: 20-20-10-10-10-10-20-20-1-1-1-1-6

Something like that, you see? You would also do that for Set 3!

However, for set number two surface has no bearing...you will arrange 13 number throughout 13 games, for example:

Set 2: 13-12-11-9-10-4-5-6-7-8-3-2-1

You see? So, your points would end up looking like this:

Set 1: 20-20-10-10-10-10-20-20-1-1-1-1-6 (depending on surface)
Set 2: 13-12-11-9-10-4-5-6-7-8-3-2-1
Set 3: 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 (depending on surface)

The higher point in each game wins that game. It takes 6 games to win a set and two sets to win a match, you get the picture! In the event of an equal scoring game, where both players have chosen the same number, we have what is called a "coin-toss" the player whose second name is first alphabetically wins it, then the next time the other player wins that game. And so on...

Example Match:

Serena Williams v Steffi Graf

It is on Grass; Serena has Grass as her number 1 surface so she can use 130 points in sets 1 and 3.
Graf has Grass as her number 2 surface so she can use 120 points in sets 1 and 3:

Serena Set 1: 10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-19-1-10-10
Graf Set 1: 1-20-20-20-10-10-20-19-0-0-0-0-0

1-0 Serena
1-1
2-1 Graf
3-1
4-1* (* denotes Coin Toss!)
4-2*
5-2
6-2

Graf wins first set 6-2

That is how the scoring system works!

Points are to be sent to me via PM by the deadline. This will become more apparent once I get the first tournament thread up and running.

There will also probably be PC Players, depending on how many people sign up...we will probably have a draw of 16 players, so we might need 8 computer players to make up the numbers. I will post more information about this once you guys sign-up! Thanks!

IF ANYONE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING PLEASE ASK! Wink

I was just thinking of having the YEC after the US Open, if you guys really want an indoor season we can have one...

I think it would be better with one, but the game looks really good anyway. A YEC would be really good fun.

Another thing, will all the surfaces have the same amount of events that offer the same amount of points?

Yes, for each surface there will be 3/4 warm up events followed by a Grand Slam. I am undecided about an Indoor Season...if enough of you say you would rather have one then I will put one in...it will mean adding to your surface list though, everyone!

Also, as this is a new system if some of you want to send some points in now we can have some exhibition matches to practice. Just a thought! Everyone could use the 130 points per set for sets 1 and 3, just so you can work some things out...
