I play singles for my high school team. We are pretty good (made it to states last 10 years). Im 13-4 so far this season and was 20-11 last season.
In the winter I play for a USTA indoor team 18u intermediate(meaning none of our players are nationally ranked). Last year we were the top team in Michigan and finished in the top 5 at sectionals in Indianapolis. We are going back this year also and are expecting to win sectionals.
This summer I am going on a strict tennis "diet" in prepartation for taking over my high school team's top singles spot. Its gonna be tough, but tennis is going to be all I do during the day. I hope to improve a lot and hopefully play in more summer tournaments to see if I can catch the eyes of some division 2 scouts. If I do well in some of those tournies, and during the high school season next year, maybe I will get some money or just be able to walk onto a D2 school. You can always hope.
So where do you guys play your tennis? _________________ 05/06 Combined High School Record- 39-19
I play tennis at my school and at a club- I'm not ranked nationally (in Canada) or anything. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself

I am a high school tennis coach. I played high school tennis, but didn't play much in college. I was on the college team for a few weeks, but then quit to focus on my classes (read into that that I wasn't good enough to play with any regularity ) . I am 29 years old and play 4.0 USTA. I absolutely love it. I'm trying to play more singles lately, but mainly I compete in doubles. I'd consider myself more of a baseline player, although I'm trying to force myself into the net more often. I'm getting more comfortable up there. I've really been studying the game lately to help me teach my high school kids better, and that studying has really lit my fire about the game. I'm coaching at a brand new high school this coming year, so I'll have a team of many inexperienced players. I'm just hoping I can help them get good...fast.
I play for my highschool team. last year as a freahman i played #2 girls singles and also played as part of the girls double team. This year as a sophomore I am looking forward to playing #1 girls singles.
I play baseline tennis. I am a smurf, all of 5'2" and I use my speed to track down everything that is in play. I also have an above average 2 hand backhand and a fairly good forehand. Can be erractic at times. My net plays is not good and my serve needs more power, but I am working on that. _________________ Playing like a girl doesn't mean what it used to!
My Record Last Year: 13-5
Yeah I am pretty much a baseline player also. Strong forehand, serviceable backhand. My volleys suck but my serve is pretty hard (yet somtimes inconsistent). I am very well conditioned and do well tracking balls down. _________________ 05/06 Combined High School Record- 39-19
I'm an all-court player, but I find myself staying more-and-more at the baseline, sneaking into the net. My serves are getting better... I can actually risk a first serve now and get around 60% in (well, it depends on who I play). _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I have a pretty big serve for 5'1". My favorite is the lefty slice up the middle on the ad side because the people I play always expect the serve out wide, so they always stand in the doubles alley and I just go zipping up the middle. My forehand is my main weapon and my backhand is solid. I like offensive crosscourt backhand slices, they're safer for me than topspin drives. I sometimes overhit those, but my BH DTL is nice. I can serve and volley, but it's just not a favorite of mine to do. I usually do that for like 2 points in a match or more if I am pressured on serve. But I can pretty much play anywhere on the court, I don't exactly have a GAPING weakness. Probably just patience in long matches.
