JHH breezes through Peer. Nadal should be cruising fine. Safin Rochus should be entertaining(not for Safin though).

Not much of a surprise to me. Kuznetsova was been playing below average the past few weeks and has already barely survived scares this U.S. Open. Jankovic is playing some of her best lately, taking down both Williams' this summer. However I think Dementieva will be too much for her to handle, unless Elena's serve is extremely off.

Safin through in straights over Rochus. Haas over Ginepri in 5.

I can't believe Robredo lost so badly. He's such a good player I wouldn't imagine him only winning three games in three sets.

Henin-Davenport quarter, Lindsay goes through 6-4 6-4 over Schynder with a +10 winner to error difference (35 winners, 25 errors).

I am very disappointed for Robredo. I think he is great to watch and has done very well to become a top 10 player, but once again he has stumbled at the grand slam.

I think Davenport has been amazing so far. She doesn't play for nearly 5 months and then comes back to defeat the world number 1, reach a final and a grand slam QF. Chances are slim against JHH, but Lindsay has the game to beat her and will have some opportunities.

You guys know that I'm sort of a Henin-Hardenne fan, but I hope Davenport can win this one. This is really Lindsay's last chance at a Grand Slam, and I hope she does it.

I think Serena is even more phenomenal...the tennis she is playing is ridiculous, that match against Ivanovic was one-way traffic! I think she may get ousted by Mauresmo to be honest but either way I will be pleased - Mauresmo my favourite player against my former-favourite - whoever wins, I want to see go and lift the title.

I truly want Davenport to win, this could be her last chance. People like Serena and Mauresmo have many more chances to come.

Thoroughly agree but it is just my personal preference, I like Davenport a hell of a lot but not as much as Amelie/Serena and a few others...

There is something about Serena at this tournament that reminds me of the A.Open 2005. I have a feeling she will win this title. I don't see Mauresmo beating Serena unless Serena is completely out of sorts. Serena has a 9-1 record over Mauresmo. It all adds up against Mauresmo.

I think Davenport will still have a shot at the A.Open next year and Wimbledon, if she decides to play that. She is the complete underdog against JHH, but if she can get a good start she will be confident. If JHH has a good start, I don't see Davenport coming back. I really hope Davenport can win this!

And also, as Serena said in her interview, "My game just likes her game." It's the same with Davenport; bumping back the return just won't cut it for Mauresmo vs. Serena. Especially the way she's hitting recently. She has impressed me incredibly during this tournament. Hope it's a nice match today! Very Happy

Serena has looked great, the only thing that could keep her from title is inspired play by either Mauresmo or Sharapova. If she reaches the final the chances of her losing are next to none. One other thing that could keep her from winning is herself, I have watched her in a couple of warmups and the times she lost she just never looked like herself. While that could happen I would find that unlikely considering she is in a Major. Nobody can play under pressure like she can.

And also, when a Williams sister gets deep into the second week, they almost NEVER lose(one exception was the 03 hand incident). Whenever either Venus or Serena lose, it's very early. Like 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round.
