as sad as it is, I think Andre will go. he is constantly fighting this back injury. he is skipping the clay court season. as much does he have left? I do think Lindsay will stay. I think she learned a lot from Pierce, Pierce at 31 reached two slam finals, granted she was destroyed in both but we can all agree Lindsay is a better player than Mary. I think Davenport will give it another year.

Yes, Pierce did very well last year and that can be an inspiration for Davenport, Capriati and Seles (I hope the latter 2 will come back), and even for Hingis. I dont think Davenport would ever give as poor a performance in those finals as Pierce did though...
For Andre, I think he will stay as he has given up his claycourt season, which is usually a great part of the season for him. I think he is saving himself for Wimbledon and the US hardcourts. He can still have a great year, and in the events he plays, I think he will do very well in.
i think andre would retire quckier than davenport. in the womens game there's more hope for players. but in the men's game it's all ted, by federer (not writing off nadal). so it gives more hope for davenport to continue to play because she could win a GS. but for andre he know's that when he's up against federerhe won't be able to win
I don't think both will retire. Davenport, I think, will certainly play on, since she's still among the best (as in Top 4). Agassi might retire, but I feel he's going to be in for a huge grass/hard court season, and I'm sure he's hungry for one last run at the AO, which he surely wants to have another chance at since he had to skip it this year. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I really got into tennis about a year and a half ago, and the commentators then were saying "lindsay davenport will probably retire soon" like she had almost been retiring for a while, and I remember people on the CP board saying they were so sick of her around. I hope she sticks around tho.
Yes. It's a joy to watch how clean Davenport (and Agassi) hit the ball. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
i think that andre will retire after the USO this year.....but for lindsay, i dont know.....it depends on state of her injury...... _________________ www.freewebs.com/tenniswallpapers by myself and x.doublea

I hope he doesn't, but I understand that this is a very likely scenario. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I'd like Agassi to stick around as long as he thinks he has a competitive chance, but odds are he'll retire after this year. He's only going to be actively playing like half this yr. at most. Who knows if he'll do anything at Wimbledon, so his season has basically come down to the summer hard court season.
Davenport could stick around for another yr. or 2 but she's blown so many great opportunities (injuries aside), and I think although she appears to be a nice person, her moodiness on the court has really hurt her in the big events. When she's off her game, you never know emotionally if she's going to fight through. When you get older the desire to grit through the tough matches starts to wane and that's why retirement seems more and more appealing. I think her GS championship days are over. Very good player but should have won way more than 3 majors.
Yes. In fact, both Agassi and Davenport were more capable of winning more than they did. Davenport had many chances where she was knocked out in the semifinals, and Agassi basically lost like seven Grand Slam championships due to his immaturity and his lack of focus. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I think that they will both call it a career this year....probably at the U.S. Open.
BTW did anyone see the Andre "No Strings" episode? It was all about his school and charity work. He only picked up a racquet to hit with some junior players his foundation sponsers.
