What are your pet hates about tennis?
Mine are:
1. Cheats
2. Players on adjacent courts with no tennis etiquette
3. People who buy racquets just because they like the pro who "plays" with it. (In fact, most pros racquets are heavily customized, a are paintjobbed to look like the newest model)
4. Players who question every ball that is close but out/in.

Would Like to know your views

Thanks
Fred

#3 of your list is one of pet peeves....some people think that they will play better just because they use a racquet that andy roddick uses or something.....

#2 on your list is the one that bothers me the most. I hate when I am playing a point and a player from another comes into or behind my court and picks up one of the balls that went astray.

I know what you mean! It's so frustrating. I was playing a guy for fun on my school team and he won and he jumped up and down and started screaming. I also hate it when your doubles partner laughs at you when you miss a shot! Confused

They're all pet peeves on mine, but I would have to say #3 and #4 are my biggest. I just hate it when players question my line calls and I abolutely despise talking to people who think they're so great and knowledgeable about tennis by buying 'Agassi's' racquet or 'Roddick's' racquet. Too many players have no idea about paint jobs....

i just hate it when you hit a shot that is perfectly on the line, the person calls it out just because they cant get to it.......it happens with my serves a lot......i once lost a match because i got rattled by one of those bad calls.....

I know how you feel. What I sometimes do is stare at the line for a few seconds and then at the opponent, just to 'warn' them.... I remember a parent once called my shot out and I just lost my composure.

i know this sounds kind of stupid, but i remember i was playing a tournament, and the girl i was playing asked me "dont i hit exactly like sharapova does?" and i had to do all i could to stop laughing(her strokes were ATROCIOUS).....but later it got annoying because she kept asking me that on changeovers.....i just gave a shrug of the shoulders.....and i beat her in the end....

I would just say something like: "Of course you do," and stop her from talking.... That's quite funny, though. Laughing

i kind of modeled my game around JHH's so it figures that a person with "JHH" strokes beat somebody with "sharapova" strokes Laughing .....oh yes, another one of my pet peeves are the people that are sharapova wannabes.....it befuddles me why somebody would want to copy that shrieking of hers......i mean, it is completely pointless if the shriek is forced.....

Yes. I would take Henin-Hardenne's strokes over Sharapova's any day of the week.

You're right....it's pointless. If you've noticed, even Sharapova has quited down her grunt this year....
