Bartoli is the top seed, she will hope to rebound after a thumping 2 and 0 at the hands of Bremond in the first round of Tokyo. Maria Kirilenko is seeded second, she could have a potentially tricky opener against Pratt. Molik is also in the draw, she was given a WC. If seeds hold,
Go Makiri, get past Pratt and pleeeeaaase go far in the tourney _________________ A fan of "that French backhand dude"

I honestly feel a bit bad for her... she deserves at least some better results than she's getting.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
She apparently was up 3-1 in the third. _________________ www.freewebs.com/tenniswallpapers by myself and x.doublea

Austrian Sybille Bammer won her first WTA title, winning a thriller against 6th seed Gisela Dulko 7-5 3-6 7-5. At this event last year, she reached her first SF and only recently reached a second SF in Hobart (beating Serena Williams on the way). This was Dulko's second singles final (after Hobart 2005). She is still without a WTA singles title.
2nd seeds Nicole Pratt and Mara Santangelo won the doubles title, beating Australian Open finalists and top seeds Yung-Jan Chan and Chia-Jung Chuang 6-4 7-6. This continues Pratt's great start to 2007.
But I must say it is incredible for Bammer for Austria to win her first WTA title. This is huge for Austrian womens tennis. Tough loss for Gisela Dulko. She is on her way and the right track. Soon I think she will be able to capture a WTA title
