This is one of the biggest indoor tournaments in the world, and is a combined ATP and WTA tournament.

In the WTA event, Amelie Mauresmo and Maria Sharapova are the top seeds. However, Elena Dementieva is a two-time runner-up and has a 24-9 record at this tournament. Svetlana Kuznetsova and Dinara Safina are others to look out for. There are no former champions in this draw.

Patty Schnyder plays Chanda Rubin for the 3rd straight week. Elena Bovina, now unranked, made a losing comeback to Shahar Peer 6-0 6-2. This is Bovina's first tournament since the French Open 2005.

In the ATP event, 2004 Champion Nikolay Davydenko is the top seed. Others are home favourites Dmitry Tursunov and Mikhail Youzhny.

One of my favorite carpet tournaments, along with Zurich. Should be a nice tourney. Kuznetsova's on a hot streak, Sharapova's back after a long layoff after the USO, Mauresmo hasn't had the best results of late, but usually does very well on carpet, Safina made the SF last year, and Dementieva could make a good run depending on if she has a good week or not. Who knows with Elena? Laughing

Here is a livestream for Moscow: http://kremlincup.comstar.ru/tv.shtml#

I know, it's in Russian, but Центральный корт is centre court and you can decipher the rest.(1 for ct. 1 and etc.)

Might not be of real help for us here in the states though, time diff is so big.

My pick for Moscow is Sharapova. But she is coming off a lay off so it is a risky choice. But she is a great player can really turn it on. My pick for the mens is Dmitry Tursunov. He is having good results lately is has confidence. He's the type of player that needs all the confidence and mental strength he can get. BTW, thanks for posting the live stream. Was about to post it but saw you had

I picked Kuznetsova. Her run was recently ended by Petrova, and is a streaky player, so risky.

Picked Tursunov for the same reasons on the men.

Yes, Kirilenko needs to change something. Shes lost so many close ones in a row. I forgot to make a fantasy pick, but I would've picked Sharapova. Not because of the fantacism, but because she is the only one without a major fault right now. Safina is out, and Kuznetsova got beaten by Petrova Rolling Eyes And Dementieva is not 100%. Actually, I change my pick to Petrova, she is playing well!

I DESPISE Petrova, no matter how well she is playing. She has absolutely NOTHING special about her game, and gets so many cushy draws in tournaments and only benefits from playing every single week.

she sure does, but i heard she was playing pretty well, but she like cramped up or got injured or something. anyway after she lost she got mad and chucked her racquet across the court. but whatever she showed, judging by the scorecard, a pretty good effort against someone ranked about 18 spots over her

A very tough loss for her. I can see why she would chuck her racket across the court. I think the big let down right now for Maria K is her mental

True, it was no easy match, its just such a letdown when its so close.
And even though you may despise Petrova, she can still win.
