A possible Sharapova-Washington rematch in the R16 would be very interesting. The best 1r match should be alicia molik vs Zvonereva. Also Shenay Perry vs Craybas will be interesting.

Yes, Sharapova should win this one. Unfortunately, the depth of this field is quite shallow....

goo that Molik is here. with her draw I think she will get to the F. there she could give Sharapova trouble. as witnessed by her win over Sharapova at zurich she can give Sharapova trouble on fast surfaces.

I'm very happy Molik is playing there. She has talent but has been displaced due to problems.

Maria though should win this title easily

This is the tournament that Sharapova chooses to prepare for Wimbledon at, not Eastbourne. She has won the past 2 years. She should win this tournament easily. Usually her only problem in Birmingham is the transition from clay to grass hurts her back, but this time she hasen't played much on clay. She should be fully prepared for the grass. I am very glad Molik is playing. She won a couple of rounds in Paris which is an encouraging sign. She is more suited to grass so I hope this will be her turning point of 2006. The winner of the tournament gets the original Wimbledon trophy.

Molik withdrew, and winners include Perry over Craybas (Perry looks promising! Smile), Mirza, Na Li over Washington (too bad for mashona, maybe shes not a true american and prefers clay?), and Jamea Jackson! Go Jamea, you rock! I won lots of vcash on wtaworld for that win Wink

I dont see why this has to be in smaller events Crying or Very sad

I'm not really surprised this is in the smaller events section. I mean, it is basically Sharapova and Schiavone and............everybody else. And Schiavone isn't good on grass.

And that's why you already have like $54 on WTAworld. Laughing

It's kind of odd; some people have 0.93928492483923 dollars and some are millionaires. Shocked Confused

So, in WTA World, you need to get enough 'cash' through betting in order to have certain accesses?

Leftys, those who have such low ammounts may have banked their vcash. And yes you get vcash for many things like posting, posting threads, blogging gets you tons, and betting as well.

Raymond and Stosur are playing in Birmingham this week aswell. They both should suit the grass very well. They aren't playing doubles this week though.
